Does UNCLE BOB always cut the TURKEY a certain way? Does Mom have an AMAZING RECIPE that needs to be shared with the world? Is there a certain drink that must be served in order for you to have a SUCCESSFUL and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! any and all comments welcomed!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING RPer's!!!!

My family would wait until we started eating and then break out the cameras, so we always had holiday pictures showing people with a mouth full of food. Other than that, we always had 'green stuff'. It was this strange combination of cool whip, green jello and pineapple. After dinner, we would clear the table and then start playing cards for money. Man, I love my family!

My Mom used to make the Green Stuff you are referencing above...LOVED that STUFF! Pineapples, whip cream, Marciano cherries, and walnuts was always in ours.

SrA Jeff Campbell, we always had the standard meal (Uncle Bob, Aunt Betty, etc.). What made our Thanksgivings (and many other holidays and get-togethers) special were that the men went to the kitchen (of the family homestead) to play poker, and the women and younger children went to the living room to play other card games.
Our family always seemed to play cards as I was growing up. I have many fond memories of card games (cribbage, pinochle, poker, pitch, 31) growing up - at Thanksgiving and other special days.
