I must say, I was very impressed with his willingness as a senior leader to admit to this.  It really opens the door for service members who have problems to not feel embarrassed or ashamed of needing counseling and treatment.

Who else has seen this commercial, and what do you think about it?

Sort of easy when you're at the top and don't have to worry about whether or not it is going to keep you from going any further...<br>Still, a nice touch.<br>

While I have not seen the commercial, I appreciate his efforts to raise awareness of the issue. &nbsp;I work for a nonprofit, Project Sanctuary, that helps the service member and the entire family deal with some of the effects of PTSD. &nbsp;Check us out at: http://www.projectsanctuary.us&nbsp;<div class="pta-link-card"><div class="pta-link-card-picture"><img src="http://projectsanctuary.us/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/jf_challenge_winner.jpg"></div><div class="pta-link-card-content"><div class="pta-link-card-title"><a target="_blank" href="http://www.projectsanctuary.us">Home - Project Sanctuary</a></div><div class="pta-link-card-description">At Project Sanctuary, we believe&nbsp;the whole family serves, and the best way to “support the troops” is by supporting the family. We provide therapeutic retreats, enabling military families to reconnect...</div></div><div style="clear:both"></div><div class="pta-box-hide"><i class="icon-remove"></i></div></div>

Sir:

This is vital to prevent passing intergenerational PTSD to the next generation. The numbers speak for themselves when we look
for the number of combat stress casualties in WWI, WWII, and Korea the 400,000
soldiers who died in combat over 500,000 soldiers became behavioral health
casualties A little-known fact is that while 400,000 soldiers died in World War
II, over 500,000 soldiers became behavioral health casualties In fact, the
number of combat stress casualties in WWI, WWII, and Korea was greater than the
number of those who died in actual combat. (B. C. Cantrell and C. Dean
2005).These Soldiers integrate back into families, they are our fathers and
grand fathers and bring the war home with them. The families find themselves at
risk for war-related stress and unknowingly to them their children are
psychologically fragile and vulnerable due to the instabilities and
insecurities at home.

Well done SMA Chandler! Thanks for sharing SSG (Join to see). Anything that eases the tensions of self reporting PTS symptoms on active duty is welcome! When it comes from the head shed, it doesn't get any better than that.
