I guess it all depends on circumstances. A friend's mother drove off the road and her car ended upside down in a river. They were able to find her by her cell phone.

I heard this story on the radio coming to work today, SGM (Join to see). Despite the possible abuses of the technology, I think the pros far outweigh the cons. Imagine how it might save a life in an earthquake or an avalanche (earthquake is probably more likely). I think it's a very good development.

It seems that much technology has long existed...we are just learning the personal applications. People who work with satellites (mil sat controllers) know more....

The biggest issue with any technology or ability is the checks and balances against abuse. Security is always on the bottom of the list for priority.
