Great article indeed. I've seen it circulating. One of RallyPoint's goals is to mitigate some of the issues addressed in #5 and #6 of the article; helping military members better leverage social media.

The transition from soldier to civilian is real! Soldiers need to align themselves with civilian language, and understand that many are negatively perceived. When I got out, many employers said, that my military experience didn't count!. Many civilian organization and leaders know very little about soldiers, AFSC,rates,etc. In more recent times, some organizations have hired military folks in HR and Recruiting Team to diminish that divide. Military folks should seek out Military Friendly Employers, and look for Companies that have Military Translation devices on their Websites under Careers and Opportunities! Also, they should seek out Military Recruitment firms!
