Coincidentally, SGM (Join to see), I was in the Fort Meade clothing sales store today. It's in the process of closing, but only so it can move to our bright and shiny new PX/BX complex, which is due to open sometime in November. That will be great because the clothing sales store was always kind of "out of the way." Now it will be where the action is -- in the PX complex.

Like many other businesses, the Military Clothing Sales Store moved to a larger, less confined location, Cyberspace! AAFES has been improving the shopmyexchange.com website and offering increasing services and products for the MCSS. Online shopping has become more popular, and AAFES made the jump

SFC Jackson, I couldn't find the new IPFU on the AAFES website. Everything was 'out of stock'.

no doubt SFC Michael Jackson, MBA , and being a retiree and not living at a base, it is convenient and I use the online PX all the time, but some of the items and some of the services of the old PX would sure be nice to have. in person and online. Like being able to get GI underwear. LOL. It could be that the PX website is just not as user friendly as I would like.

There is one here at Ft Benning. All major installations will have theirs. I was told that the outlining bases likely will lose theirs because of the budget to operate them. If they are near a larger installation than they would just have one for the area.

CPT Swartout, the definition of "Major Installation" may be an issue...Redstone Arsenal is a major installation and lost their store. There is a corner in the PX. Most items must be ordered on line.

I've been to the clothing sales at Redstone...it may have to do with the number of units stationed there. I was there for 89B school in 2006 and now it has relocated to Ft Lee. Still I would think Redstone Arsenal would keep their CS store open.
