A lot of times during a discussion I want to engage an individual in real time while the discussion is going on.  I think an IM feature would be great to facilitate that instead of just the email like feature we currently have.  You also have to be connected with someone to send them a message and that shouldn't be necessary.

I agree with you SSG Burns, on the having to connect before sending an email part, but also what if you want to go in COMM and when sending the request the receiver doesn't want to accept, what then?

I just put that in here as a thought and not a question to you SSG Burns.

I don't want to say much about IM, because even in my job as IT, one of the most disturbing acts is to do your work and get an IM from a user or various users all at the same time. Imaging getting 20 IM's all from different people at the same time. lol

It's definitely on our roadmap. Expect to see some other new key features come out before IM though. I hope SSG Burns can hold out!

I would definitely use it for many of the convo's that could be held related to the current discussion forum.

I know SSG Burns is chomping at the bit to utilize it to the fullest. LOL
