What are issues or barriers that hinder you from success in higher education?

I've been in a leadership role for a veterans organization on campus and we have finally gained enough ground and voice to bring awareness and effect policy change at our university. If you go to Western Kentucky University, let me know specifics. If not, then tell me what general issues you've had and dealt with in your local areas.

It was honestly fear at first for me. once I actually saw that this can be done I became a beast and went after it.

Generally speaking it would be lack of motivation and attention to detail. There are a lot of barriers but you must seek them and knock down the doors when you get the opportunity.
