The company I work for in Metro Detroit is having trouble finding and keeping quality people. I want to suggest they hire veterans( of course). Are there any organazations that help employers and veterans find each other?

Oh, as I have been employed in a good job since before I joined I have not looked at that part of the site!

SGT Steve Oakes If you'd like to use RallyPoint as a hiring tool check on the Business Services page (found in the top right toolbar on desktop) or get in touch with Elizabeth Malkin. She can walk you through all the options!

SGT Steve Oakes I would be happy to talk to you or to someone else on your team to help them to find best-in-class veteran talent. Please feel free to pass my email address along: [login to see] . Thanks for asking the question!

Look for a LVER (Local Veterans Employment Representative) at your state's department of labor. The service should be free and they should already have a good network of veterans looking for work.

If you hire through a staffing agency, let them know that you have a Veteran's preference. I've had some decent response with that.

To add to what CPT Wagoner said, also reach out to the different VSOs, i.e. DAV, VFW, and American Legion... they usually have the most direct contact with vets.
