I was the 1SG for my company for approximately 30 days before our current 1SG came in. I understand that since it was under 90 days my duty position will not be rated as a 1SG, but I was under the impression I would still be allowed to annotate a bullet on my NCOER stating my time served as the "acting" 1SG. I am being told otherwise. I have looked in the regulations I can find but I cannot find anything that states the bullet not being allowed.
Can someone please assist with this?
Thanks.

Absolutely..
o selected by the Command Team to serve as interim First Sergeant from YYYYMMDD to YYYYMMDD
(You could even beef that up to say "selected over X SFCs")

You've received some sound advice already SFC (Join to see). I would like to echo these and say you absolutely should have your time annotated as a bullet on your NCOER. Serving as a 1SG entails a ton of responsibility and to handle that as a SFC, even for 30 days, is commendable and you should receive the credit for that. I hope that you pursue this and it gets annotated on your NCOER. Good luck!!!

1SG Steven Stankovich As a new CAARNG SGM, I was detailed to take a small cohort of Guardsmen to Ft Carson for two weeks integration/training in 1972.
1SG Nate Barnes assumed the duties of an Tank Co’s 1SG who had gone Elk hunting.
There was no BLIP. 1SG Barnes was qualified and demonstrated it!
I did ‘lose’ one Troop for tat two weeks, he was of the E-4 Mafia type and proved it!
I also saw the sad state of the Army in 1972’s post Vietnam years. Sharing that knowledge with the 4th ID’s seniors did not sit well!

While you cannot be rated in that position due to the minimum time not being net, you may (and should) certainly use it as a bullet on your evaluation.
