MSG Louis Alexander This is my cot in June 1953. A month later I inherited a real cot’s mattress/pad. After adjusting the air mattress’s air, it was so soft and forgiving, one of the other Soldiers in the tent suggested I was sleeping on a cot comprised of women’s upper body parts!

What is the military coming to, when some people have to worry about the size of bed. How many out there were worried about your size of bed in the war zone. What should matter is getting some sleep, before the next attack or incoming.

No although it would be nice. Someone in the past command group purchased them or got approval to purchase them and given that we only have 6 barracks rooms I can only speculate that is how we acquired them. Housing dept is saying they cannot purchase new mattresses for my guys because a reg says only twins allowed.

SSG(P) (Join to see) - Hmm. I never lived in the Bs, but I had guys who did and it never occurred to me there was any other option but twin. Those guys had decent sized bedrooms where one could have fit a full size comfortably; queen perhaps, but not quite as comfortably; kings could physically fit in those bedrooms, but I bet it would be in violation of some fire code.

It sounds like Housing might be able to direct you to the regulation if they are so quick to invoke it against you.

Good luck.
