Sir before I was transferred to the retired Reserve I was told a 6 month lead was required. They cut orders for me in 45 days. As stated below it depends on the work ethic of your command chain.

I can't give you doctrine, but based on my experience with a reasonably efficient HHC Brigade level staff, I would allow at least 45 days for the clearing process..perhaps more this time of the year if there is AT/range/exercise planning going on. I bet your U/A or the S1 will know the specifics.

I have known of situations where a Soldier was allowed to do a block of RSTs to keep them from getting U's while they stop attending as they clear. But, this was a unit-level decision on a unique case.
