What would happen if a USAR SMP Cadet gets commissioned into NG before their conditional release from the USAR gets approved?

Commissioning on May 12. But the conditional release package is not yet signed by the USARC. Would this prevent me getting commissioned on time?

Once you graduate ROTC (the day prior); they'll do a separation memo from USAR. Then your gaining state will just do a commissioning packet. It's recommended to get with your recruiting command for the gaining state and speak with the coordinator there. That's at least how PA does it... Good luck!

Thank you. Sergeant. I will talk to the human resource officer and my unit S1 regarding this solution. I spoke to my unit S1 yesterday, and he had no idea how would happen if the final approval authority does not sign before my commissioning date.

I agree with COL Williams. Paperwork can often lag behind action. I was in the same boat a while back, I don't remember needing or waiting on a conditional release. As a cadet your expected to leave once you get commissioned.

Sir. It seems like I am in the gray area where no one knows what is exactly going on. I would keep my fingers crossed then.

You actually belong to Reserve Officer Training Corps first. You would be commissioned on time but still belong to your current unit until the conditional release was approved but you would be commissioned into the Reserves on time with your class with future assignment to be determined.

Thank you. Master Sergeant. It may sound odd tho if I am commissioned into a different branch but get stuck with the current unit.

Not at all. It will just be a single line in your record that people who ae used to looking at will not bat an eye. Nothing at all.
