What is the "right direction".
I am hoping that the country can regain its AAA status financially. I'd like to see less government and more personal responsibility.

Personal responsibility! Imagine the changes in our self-obsessed culture, spoiled brats, inner city families, and the drops in crime and increased education across the board.

I would say the "right direction" is a personal opinion which is absorbed collectively resulting in a pathway made thru our Democratic system of government. that is just my opinion of course. I am a bit torn concerning the "less government" and agree wholeheartedly concerning personal responsibility.

SGT (Join to see) - We seem to have redundant govt entities. Give clear responsibilities and get rid of the rest. Another example or where we could get rid of government, how about a flat 1% federal sales tax. Everything that is sold is taxed at 1%, no exemptions. This would eliminate the IRS and personal income tax.

In terms of economics, we still have much work to do. Socially, we are currently a nation divided.

I think when you have violence in the inner cities increasing, poverty rate increasing, unemployment rate not reflective of reality, almost zero inflation, almost zero interest rate growth.........there is a serious structural problem in our Economy that needs to be fixed. We need to be lifting everyone economically and providing everyone a safe place to live.......if not then we are failing as a country and eventually will pay for it via loss of liberty. So lets see what the next four years brings and if we can right the listing ship.

Also my opinion on Immigration is that it is ONLY a hot button issue because the crappy economy always inflames the issue of Immigration. Fix the economy FIRST and we can talk more rationally about Immigration.
