No, I do Metal Art. My wife and I have designs that are totally unique. It is so hard to go to an art show and see some one has copied your work. A lot of people have the talent to do the work, but only a few can come up with new styles.

Great point! Copyrights seem to be just a lawyers' full employment act.
I have always thought it that, as an engineer, every time I created a product or process and was paid for it the deal was complete; I did not get paid again every time someone used my product or process. Why is artistic intellectual property valued differently from engineering intellectual property?

SGT (Join to see), I think that people should be paid for their work when it is done, not in perpetuity for the same job. The present copyright law operates as if a heart surgeon got another payment each time the patient's heart beats for the rest of his/her life. I think that is preposterous.
Some songs are classic and will stir people's hearts down the ages, and for this the artist deserves fame, but not another payment every time the song is played.
A lot of people do very creative work, and some find fame and fortune from it, but rarely do they continue to get paid for the same job over and over.

Capt Seid Waddell - I think then the question becomes "how do you ensure someone gets paid once for music artistry?"

SGT (Join to see), by selling their songs to publishers or publishing them themselves. Or by performing them.

Capt Seid Waddell - Still on the fence about this but greatly appreciate your point of view. But then there's a lot less reason to force giving credit.

SSG Carlos Madden , I felt his original response, or rant, didn't contribute to the video or my question and said so. He said some things, said more things, I said my second comment, and meanwhile he was sterilizing his profile. He also blocked me.

Apparently, I was last of many "pricks" he was willing to deal with on RP. Seems suspect to me. Something seemed off about his words - the vibe.
