I went to WLC (BLC) in 2014. I have no flags, no unfavorable actions etc. but yet any effort to contact higher- is met with "we are working on it". I don't believe the fault is within my own unit as we are a small MCD and no one has access to ATRRS. I have seen some of the emails from my unit to BDE requesting my enrollment. I am at the point now that I feel my career progression is being hindered and am considering going commissioned upon my graduation, which was never my plan. I am not sure what my next step should be, but it upsets me that it is also is affecting our lower enlisted. Many have transferred, requested AD or gotten out altogether because of having waited up to 5 years to attend BLC. We have some great juniors that are ready for the next step, but not given the chance. What do I do?

Pet ion your immediate leadership for permission and sanction to personally contact the next unit up the line. And determine who you should seek an personal appointment with there. Appear with all of your ducks, (documents), in proper order and practice how you want to sell your need!

Talk to your branch manager, CoC (someone that truly cares enough to run it up the chain), Training NCO (to see if they have special connections), AND the NCOES schoolhouse at Fort Knox. It took me two years to get enrolled. Best I can suggest is do other things to beef up your ERB/SRB/PPW in the meantime - SOLE cert, training certs, awards, resident training, e-learning courses, and ensure your ERB is g2g.

I wish I knew if we had a branch manager. We are a very small unit of about 20-30 maybe. Our training NCO is new to us and waiting on ATRRS access, but I believe he has our best interest. That's a good idea for the certs, I have a few but it doesn't hurt to have more. Thank you for your input.

SGT (Join to see) - Everyone has a branch manager. See link below and select your Corps for your specific branch manager. This is an important resource your leadership should've told you about - https://www.hrc.army.mil/content/Enlisted%20Personnel%20Management%20Directorate
