Michael Jordan, other athletes are speaking out re: violence and the police! Will significant Muslim leaders speak out about radicalization?

Some young Muslims and local Muslim leaders gathered at the College of DuPage Wednesday to hold talks on how to combat radicalization and ISIS.

CSM Charles Hayden - i read an article that made an interesting point. It said that no one demands that the average christian denounce mass killings because they are given the presumption that any average christian person is of course appalled and find the killings abhorrent. So they don't see a need to demand christians denounce the obvious. But they don't give the average muslim that same presumption. Due to biased media misrepresenting their religion, muslims are not given credit for thinking mass killings are wrong. Instead, christians demand an extra step of public condemnation of muslim killers that they do not demand of themselves for christian killers.
This leads to the further demonization of an entire group, and feeds into an us-them mentality and stokes fear that leads to overreaching policy proposals. And the irony is that by far more muslims have been killed by ISIS than christians. To ISIS, most musims are equally guilty of not following the "right" religion and are put to death just as the christians are.

They need to take center stage in this effort CSM Charles Hayden and lets hope they do. They are quick to point fingers when someone defaces a mosque.

And how many christian leaders have you seen speaking out against the attacks on the mosques? How many christians have organized efforts to support the mosques against attacks by christians? Shouldn't they be leading the effort to stop attacks against mosques?
