I can't believe no one side this movie. It is an awesome movie. Sure it is about as factually based as 300 but it has hatchets and Merica all over it.
Directed by Roland Emmerich. With Mel Gibson, Heath Ledger, Joely Richardson, Jason Isaacs. Peaceful farmer Benjamin Martin is driven to lead the Colonial Militia during the American Revolution when a sadistic British officer murders his son.

One of my favorites and Mel Gibson and Jason Isaac both played their roles very well.

Yes it is another one of those great period pieces! we'll see how Mel does as the bad guy in "Expendables III". IMHO, his best work was the "Lethal Weapon" series when he was in his prime. To me that is one of the best of any movie series for continuity and quality. "Maverick" is another one of my favorite Mel movies.

There is a thread on Rally Point asking if folks remember their first day of Basic Training. I do, but I still remember vividly seeing Saving Private Ryan in the movie theater. I remember when the movie ended, people silently stood and walked out of the theater, many weeping. My buddy and I did not speak until we got to the car. I cannot recall a movie having that impact on me.
I have not seen it since I came back.
