SFC Mckinley Keith, my opinion is that the 10 years in service waiting time for Master's Degree it's too much.

Really, why would you need a masters for an enlisted Soldier? You have to understand its a benefit not a right.

On the Navy side you pretty much need a Masters to make E-9. You are absolutely right though, it is a benefit!!!
I am stationed on board an Air Force base and they go to school during the work day at the education center, I also saw this when I was stationed at JLBM!

CSM O'Black, you are right. TA is a benefit available for service members who meet the standards. My opinion is just for the 10 years waiting time for Master's Degree. I am Reservist & civilian federal employee, and I am a strong believer about Career Progression. Leaders in my unit encourage every soldier to take advantage of TA. I want to advance in my military career & in my civilian career as well. Being an enlisted is not a limitation for soldiers who want to succeed. I still believe in a Professional Army.

I agree and think the new policy if fair across the board. I also agree with the 10 yr because lets face it, Soldiers also have the GI bill which if you decide to get out and lets be honest not every Soldier does 10 yrs or more they can fall back on in. Most Soldiers joint and only focus on college ( which by the way is GREAT ) BUT forget about being a Soldier! So with that being said I think the new policy is fair and also help Soldiers think hard about life choices!
