In your own opinion what do you consider to be a "real true" soldier? What does it take to make a person into someone who is capable of defending the Constitution against enemies both foreign and domestic? Are they born or created by some power outside themselves?

A true soldier has the heart, doesn't take a troop (vet) to be a true soldier, a civilian could be one, it is all in the heart. I know people nthat fight the good fight and never was in the military, but they have what it takes to stand when so many walk away.

Upbringing is one of the most important factors in the making of a true soldier/Marine. Soldiers and Marines are made, however, I think some are born with a warrior spirit that sets them apart from the typical soldier/Marine.

I worry about the younger generation though. In this age of entitlements, selfish thinking, and something for nothing attitudes how many true warriors there will be in the future. I know there will always be someone that rises to the call, but I fear they may becoming an endangered species.

I believe leaders are created, molded and mentored into roles in which they can impact others. No one is born knowing what to do or how to respond things. I believe more things are caught than taught.
