This questions goes out to all of my fellow Vets and Retirees: What is it you miss most about serving your country? For me it was being able to walk amongst and rub shoulders with others who so willingly signed their names on the dotted line. That would be the worst thing about me being out of the Army.

Camaraderie and the unspoken knowledge that the person wearing a US military uniform would have your back, even if you didn't have any idea who they were.

I miss how people no matter race religion or gender could get alone and make things happen. I also miss saluting the flag 2 times a day.

Folded flag
I still salute every flag I see, gets me a lot of stares but I will NOT be deterred in my saluting. I will only stop saluting when they hand my wife one of these

Veterans are authorized to salute the flag whenever it would be appropriate. I proudly salute during the national anthem and all other instances that call for it.
