I will be attending this course here soon. For those who have attended this in the past, what is covered in this course to help you to be successful in command? I'm assuming topics like EO, SHARP, Suicide Awareness, FRG, CSDP, Leadership, Army Values, etc. Any information is much appreciated.

For me, it was meeting and networking with other future commanders. If the class is being run well, it's less about Powerpoint and more about discussing leadership approaches to the various topics (SHARP, CSDP, etc) in a case-study type open forum.

Great group discussions at Ft Jackson and the course here at Ft Benning. Everyone was able to learn from each other's experiences which offered positive insight and meaningful considerations to enhance our own command styles.

Sir, I have been thru this course 3 different times at 3 different installations now. The biggest take aways that I got were the POCs from all the agencies and every time the legal briefs were very helpful.
Command teams always need legal information. Apparently CYA means "call your attorney" and not what I used to think it meant. Honestly, from my perspective, anyone that has been in the military longer than 4 years and has paid attention to their surroundings could skip the course and get the legal briefings and a list of points of contact and you would be good.

Thanks 1SG Hansen for the reply. I have to take this course at BDE and BN level. I also have to go to Ft Jackson for another one which lasts a week. I was told it is a different phase from the ones here at Ft Benning. We shall see here soon enough.

You'll receive a foundational overview in which to successfully command...I went through it once and taught a couple retention classes.
