What would be your first choice for a school to attend if you had no problem getting the slot?

SSgt (Join to see) - I read an article several years ago where NASA was accepting applications for 12 new astronauts, over 100,000 people applied.

I worked on the shuttle program. Astronauts of today are okay ... but not like the heroes we grew up with.

DLI is the meanest trick the Army can play. They put the most god awful school in the most beautiful place in the world.
By the time I graduated, I hated Monterey. Heck, I haven’t eaten monterey jack cheese since then.
In hindsight, if someone starts a thread, “most beautiful place to be stationed in the Army”, I’d be hard pressed to believe anyone could find something above Monterey. Permanent party there is a nice gig.

SSG (Join to see) In Oct 2001, I met a Seal Squad there for a refresher in? They were “Mums the word”.

Really depends on where you're trying to take your career. My primary would be RASP. All good things begin in Ranger Regiment. If we're talking about a school that isn't a selection program, then the primary is always Ranger School to bring the leadership back to the unit. My ideal list if I had the opportunity to do it all over in succession:
Airborne-RASP-Ranger-Probably pick up Pathfinder somewhere in the mix-Jump Master-Advanced Land Nav- Then schools don't matter like they used to... as a fallback to this plan not working... SFAS to 18D Q course then try and get on either a dive or HALO team... then go back to Advanced Land Nav

Advanced Land Nav, is that what we are calling now.... Lol.... it is a training course Certificate you get, if not selected.... not a "school" in the formal sense.
