Has anyone been to Drill Sergeant School recently? If so, how are the barracks, chow hall, fitness center, etc.?

Fort Jackson has a small main post as Army posts go. Most of the installation is made up of training areas and ranges. So you should be able to find a service of your choice within a relatively short distance (within a couple of miles) of the school.
The facility itself, the school and mess hall are less than ten years old with the barracks having been completed in the last few years.
The PT track and field is between the school and barracks and has a ruberized track.
A really nice facility as far as Army standards go.

I just graduated. The barracks are really nice. It's a suite you will share. Word of advice...keep your shower door shut after you get out...the fire alarms are sensitive and the steam can set them off. Bring your own linen. The chow hall isn't bad either.
