It appears that a satellite pharmacy at Wright Patterson AFB could have been dispensing incorrect prescription medications for nearly a week as a result of 'technical difficulties'. The have posted a message on the WPAFB web site and have alerted local news outlets in the area, along with attempting to directly notify those involved.
I guess I'm just not sure what 'technical difficulty' could have caused the dispensing of incorrect medications for a period of nearly a week. Anyone out there have any insight as to what could have caused this? Needless to say, it has the potential to be a very dangerous situation. Your thoughts?

Wade, this is disturbing! I thought in most pharmacies the pharmacists double-checked each prescription so that the machines weren't doing precisely what happened at WPAFB. One or two messed up prescriptions, I can understand. But for this to go on for a week means somebody needs to be fired.

I agree, Sir. I am fortunate that we haven't had any prescriptions filled in the past week since we normally use that pharmacy. I can't imagine unknowingly receiving the incorrect medication(s).
