Should The U.S. Be Doing More To Support Christians In Iraq and Syria?

Against all odds, a small, determined band of Christian fighters still holds the line against ISIS on the Ninevah Plains of Northern Iraq. Now that we have seen ISIS export it's brutality to Europe, and scores of refugees bear witness to the ongoing slaughter of Christians, is it not about time for the U.S., France, Russia and other nations battling ISIS to solidify their support to these defenders and guardians of the Christian faith? Given the fact that this land is the cradle of Christianity, is it not imperative to save the relics, ruins, and history of this faith?

MAJ (Join to see) I think the minute you start helping a group of people over another group of people simply because they hold a religion that you do, you lose all credibility to the rest of the world who doesn't. Right or wrong, that's the way it is. You can't go and help CHRISTIAN Syrians. You have to just go help SYRIANS. Period.

I didn't vote - as the answers were limited. I believe if we are to help anyone from a conflict stricken region - we should do so, regardless of their religion. As a Christian, I wouldn't think it's very Christian of me to limit my assistance to only fellow Christians, while those of other faiths are going through similar strife. I think Deuteronomy 15:11 says it best.
