Entry Level Separation: who else has been defrauded by unscrupulous doctors?

Was anyone here given an Entry Level Seperation for an injury incurred in basic? Did the Air Force claim your injury existed prior to service. This happened to me. The doctor lied and said that I told him the injury was EPTS. After talking to people who were placed in Medical Hold, I'm finding out that this happened to a lot of other Airmen.

I was not diagnosed with hypothyroidism in 2011 during a trip to the ER, when lab work clearly showed it. 3 years later I finally was diagnosed, after being out for 2 years. My sister and I have the same symptoms and she got 100% through the VA. I got the bird.

PO2 Michael Henry - My doctors have written nexus letters connection my current to the injury in the Air Force. I have two different doctors nexus letters to the VA's one non-specialist doctor. I was still denied service connection. I am on a waiting list to get a hearing in front of an administrative law judge but the VA doesnt say how long that will take to schedule the hearing. I am being denied service connection because the AF claims the injury existed prior to service. However, in my pre-enlistment medical records, there is no such injury. I broke anL3 in basic and the Air Force put me out on an ELS claiming injury existed prior to service. They did that with absolutely no evidence of any such injury.

Keep fighting, they have to prove it. It will take a few years. Go to ebenefits.va.gov for further details on your claims. I knew a guy who was sent to Captain's Mast of a claim, no physical or medical evidence, just a Senior Chief's word, for being drunk when he was the designated sober buddy on deployment. I told him to ask for the evidence against him. No evidence, no case. He didn't and received 45/45, 1/2 * 2, loss of rank. The military legal system is a complete joke. The VA claim system isn't much better.

I went back to the VA for a raise on my percentages and the doctor learned I have hypothyroidism. This moron said I couldn't have it because my reflexes were too fast. Reflex speed is not affected by that and he outright ignored the multiple labs, statement from a previous doctor and my prescription/lab work which is handled by the VA. Fortunately for me, I wasn't there for an increase on my thyroid. I was denied after a month when I filed it. That is currently being appealed. I had two labs + symptoms while in that proved it. While both labs were just barely over the low normal limit, those limits have changed and puts one under the line, the one taken while in the ER.

AB Paul Hammock - I had an apt via the VA at an outside clinic back in February. He confirmed my nerve damage and my thyroid issue then told me not to worry. Will see how it plays out. It's under appeal and I have no clue when it will be seen. Waiting for the big brown envelope. Since all three nerves are damaged in my right arm from the shoulder to my fingers, that's six different percentages involved. They go from shoulder to forearm and elbow to fingers for each nerve. I gave him the big three for my thyroid but didn't get to mention sleepiness since that is a 100% symptom. I also have sleep apnea as well...

Fortunately, my injury was not labeled as existing prior. I was able to go through the normal recovery process and remain in the military.

Mine was listed as EPTS...yet there are no pre-enlistment medical records to show such an injury.

Evidently you did not or could not prove to the Medical staff that your injury happened after entry. That is not Unscrupulous nor fraud- they had nothing to benefit by putting you out- suggest you look up your definitions some more.
