Is going from TRADOC assignment to TRADOC assignment a bad thing?

I'm sure some people have done this before, but I've heard people say that it's bad for the career and others say it could be good for the career. As a Drill Sergeant getting ready to come off the trail, I was assigned to go to the NCO Academy at Fort Campbell. I don't mind doing it, ( I have to do it) but being stuck in a training environment away from the line for 4-6 years just seems to long.

SFC (Join to see) - looks like you only have a little over 6-months (Nov'11-Jun'12) line time as a SSG.
While Drill Sergeant and NCO Academy and great broadening assignments, they are meant to broaden you after you have completed your "branch qualification" - basically 24-months at your current grade in a tactical assignment.
You should review the DA Pam 600-25 to see what your branch expects of you as a SSG to be competitive for SFC.

(b) Operational assignments. Commanders and CSM should ensure Staff Sergeants are serving in appropriate
developmental assignments and positions and know how these assignments affect promotion and career development.
SSG’s should serve a minimum of 12 months as a rifle squad leader within rifle companies of Heavy, Infantry, or
Stryker BCTs. Additional operational leadership assignments in reconnaissance squads/sections, sniper squads, heavy/
mounted weapons sections/squads, Bradley sections, and so forth all add to the developmental process but do not
replace the requirement to serve as a rifle squad leader. Staff Sergeants should focus on serving a minimum of 36
months in the operational assignments to develop and refine their leadership skills at the squad and platoon level before
serving in temporary or special duty assignments.

SSG Bill McCoy - Regarding "How many times are the Admins going to let this person repeatedly post, OFF topic?", the answer is "until we discover someone doing it".
We don't have some magic crystal ball that starts flashing red when someone posts spam and it's a balancing act between allowing new accounts to post or restrictions until some condition is met. If you're too strict, then you block new legitimate users from posting and if you're too lenient then you allow hordes of spammers.
If you come across something that the admins haven't acted on yet, you can always go to their profile and 'flag this user' (the three dots under the connect/message/salute buttons) or send one of the active admins a message.

I didn't think there was any type of crystal ball. Well, nothing that isn't prohibitively expensive. With all the warnings I get on Facebook for conservative comments, or certain words that their algorithms grammatically misread ... well I guess I should be happy RP doesn't act like Big Brother.

Depends how you look at it. I went from Tradoc tenent APG,MD to a Tradoc tenent Ft Sill n then retired with 20. I receive my VA benefits like anybody else that retired. Prior to I served in VII Corps n V Corps back n forth to Tradoc. It all depends on how U make of it. That H designator follows U where ever U go. Not many people have a lip license in line n support units ... Feeling blessed.
