Ok I've been looking into an Engineer I worked for part time while I was going through college. I remember one point and time him showing his father WW2 Uniform, flight jackets, real glass goggles, patches, pictures, onion skin letters, and a ton of other military memorabilia. I finally realized who he was and thought I would share with everyone.

Flying Officer H. C. Godefroy

I worked for his son Scott, I was mentally and emotionally blown away by just to put my hands on all his old equipment..it was almost a holistic experience

I was told my father's WWII records were in the notorious fire that is the response some folks get.<sigh> He was Signal Corps Radar.
However, I have some photocopies of his DD214 from when he was called back to active duty during the Korean Conflict. They are miniaturized B/W photos - clearly before the convenience of copy machines!
