What is the prior service waiver called for the Army?

My husband has been trying to go Active Duty Army for almost 2 years. He is always told no for re-joining, but really wants to serve again. Does this waiver even exist? He is prior service National Guard. Honorably discharged as an E3, 6 years in. He is 15 days away from maxing out his active duty days, so he can't change his MOS.

with 6 years in and he got out as an e3 there may be a bad re code.

The re entry code. Him being prior service has nothing to do with joining the regular army, unless he got a bad code. He was reduced in rank, that could include a bar to reenlistment. I went from the national guard to the regular army...twice! In the 90's, and after 9/11, some things have changed I'm sure, but eligibility to enlist must be met.

First question, have you seen the DD-214?
Second, I've never heard of someone maxing out active duty days with only 6 years in---
Third, the reason you are getting for his demotion sounds questionable.
Lastly, is this something you're wanting him to do, and these are the things he is claiming to tell you after he disappears for a while, supposedly after he has been speaking with a recruiter?
I work within the enlistment/accession waiver branch at NGB, so I can only be honest and tell you that either you have poorly communicated what he has said, which I doubt... OR you are not getting a fully accurate story from him.

SSG(P) (Join to see) - that's what he tried to do when he was in the national guard. However, the paperwork took too long to get approved and he was discharged. He was told it would be easier to get back in just going to a recruiter. That's why we are in our current mess.

SSG (Join to see) - thank you so much for your help! I will see what he has and have him locate all of his paperwork so we can get the information needed. He has been talking to his counselor/advisor for the army and she hasn't gotten back with him yet.

Brittany Harmon - no problem, just understand, I can only give an opinion, but it will be one with regulatory references to assist. From there, you will have to figure out which path to take.

Brittany Harmon we just had two soldiers go active duty from our Battalion thus past month. I don't know why it took to longer for him. If your dd 215 and NGB22 had honorable on them or with the code MBK on the 214 you shouldn't have a problem getting in.

All I know is the Army is not meeting its recruiting quota.

On the Member 4 copy of the DD-214, in the bottom right hand corner, if you see "RE-3" even if it is Honorable, there is a highly possible chance that his demotion was for misconduct, and he won't be able to come back in. It could be for something else, like a medical issue, but if his time in has been ARNG, that DD-214, would most likely only referring to his deployment time, because when your 6 year time is up with the ARNG, you get a different form upon separation.

He got something different from the ARNG. It's not a DD-214. Will the RE CODE still be listed on there?
