If you are counting on IST managers to find vacancies, it takes a while.
If those Soldiers already live in the state they are transferring to, it's much quicker if they talk to their closest unit, or the unit they want to be in, and get that vacancy information for the RNCO and IST manager.

Is this the state you want to transfer to or are you looking to see if there are positions available for you to transfer to?
The reason I asked is that in the IST process, you don't contact them. You start with your unit readiness NCO who verifies a bunch of information and contacts your state IST Coordinator. If for some reason you don't want to work with your unit, you can contact your state's IST Coordinator directly and discuss with them.
Your state's IST Coordinator works with the other state to verify positions and possible options if there isn't a position you can transfer to directly. Once everything is set, your state's IST Coordinator will assist with the NGB 22 and the the process completed.
If you aren't sure who your state's IST Coordinator is or have questions, contact the NGB's IST Help Desk at [login to see] (M-F / 0800-1700)

I am having issues with my state’s IST coordinator not providing the information or responding to my RNCO as needed. We are trying to take care of a few Soldiers trying to transfer to be where they reside, and it’s taking an excessive amount of time to get the information needed to find them slots.

I'd give NGB's IST Help desk a call in that case. They should be able to at least help out with information about possible positions, but the IST will have to happen through your state.
