Today is a mandatory suicide stand down day for all of Eighth Army in Korea. We lost two service members 'of significant rank' in the last 48 hours and there have been additional ideations across the formation.

In this atmosphere of downsizing where any of us can be separated from the military for a myriad of reasons, it's more important than ever to look out for your buddies on the left and right.

My thoughts go to the families and friends of the two individuals left behind.

MAJ (Join to see) hopefully there will be many stand down days when nobody in 8th Army commits suicide.
I certainly hope and pray that the military and veteran suicide rate will diminish significantly and we will have more and more days between suicides instead of suicides per day
