Terraforming is about an escape path. Earth is Earth, and all the tree hugging and virtue signaling environmental groups aren't going to do anything to change anything.
Should we get to the point where Mars is found to be habitable, sure go colonize it. Why not? We would then be one step closer to the ultimate goal of deeper space travel. Becoming a multi-planet species will never be a bad thing.
