I'm in my window for reenlistment and I've made the decision to go and build a better skill set for my post Army life. Right now I'm a 13F, any advice I can get would be greatly appreciated.

There will be great opportunities to make warrant but the chances of really rising as a senior NCO may be limited

That's perfectly fine with me. My game plan was to pursue my blocks anyways.

Bringing this back from the dead.
I'm looking at reclassing as well to 15E. I'm guessing by triple threat you mean you work on three different platforms?? That's something I'm interested in doing. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I am a 15W UAV Operator. Most of the maintainers I know like their job. You have to be good at using log books to annotate any and all work you've done on the aircraft as well as check when upcoming maintenance needs to be completed.
As far as the school goes you will be at Ft Huachuca for 3-5 months and you will have to stay in the barracks due to it not being a PCS move because it's under 6 months. The Barracks you will be in though are separate from initial AIT Privates (about a mile away).

Nice, thanks for the information I certainly appreciate it. I recently spent a day teaching a class to some of my brigade's organic TUAS guys and really liked both watching the 15Ws control, and the 15Es at the launch point.

I was a 15E school house instructor and the last 1st Sergeant of the MOS-T company at Ft Huachuca. It deactivated and the MOS-T's are now part of A Company. They are still separate from the AIT kids but there was some talk of moving them closer to a building next door when I retired last year. Not sure how that played out. UAS maintenance is fairly easy compared to maintenance on other aircraft....the systems are simple Without a lot of critical to flight redundancy that manned aircraft have. They are potentially the wave of the future if FAA ever establishes standards and rules for flying in civilian airspace. Law enforcement, cargo, mail and package, merchandise delivery, research, traffic are all holding their breath for the green light and several are already maneuvering to get the jump on competition.
