What will Army 14E AIT be like for a prior service Marine?

I was an E4 in the Marines so idk how specialist and cpl work in the Army but when going through MEPS I was told I won’t be able to drive myself so POV and the recruiters told me I will only be taking a day pack for the 21 week course that bringing more would be pointless because I won’t have any liberty. Is this normal for prior service? I feel like it would be a bit different or I’d at least get to take more than a day pack.

I went through that school 16 years ago. Piece of cake. I was prior service USAF. I was allowed to POV and we got every weekend off. Can't imagine that they made it tougher.

My question was changed by an admin, thanks for the answer but I was looking for info about getting there and if it’s normal to be packing like I’m going to basic not a school house.

I went through 14E school 16 years ago. Drove POV there, class from 0800 to 1600, PT only 3 mornings a week, every weekend off. It was a piece of cake.
