What is the minimum PT requirement for prior service (when re-enlisting)?

My husband is re-enlisting and waiting on an RE-3 waiver and is working towards getting in shape again (he's been out for almost 2 years). His recruiter only said he would need to take a PT test before he signed, but didn't tell him minimum scores. Some sites are saying he would need a 50 in all categories, some say he needs a 60. Wasn't sure if anyone knew from experience?

Tell him to focus on what he needs to do to get 100 points. Push for that and the rest will take care of itself. I understand that he's trying to get back in shape, but never shoot for the minimum. Good luck to him.

He is just trying to pass for now so he can re-enlist. he got out a year and a half ago because of a back injury and wants to get back in active duty army before july. He plans to continue to work out and improve after signing and once he reaches his unit. I get what you mean though.
I was looking for if the recruiter is going to test him as if he never left or as if he were new. For example some have told me they'd test him like he was done basic so 50 each category, some say he'll be tested like he left AIT so atleast 60 each. First goal is getting his contract signed, then will go from there.

If its army, then it is the 60. although you should always shoot for higher. I had to take one as well when i switched from the guard to active.

Yeah I understand, when I came in as prior service it was 60. And even if it's 50 for some reason. It doesn't hurt to do 60!

Without knowing which branch your husband is reenlisting into, it's hard to offer specific information. This site is a good resource to look into.

He'll be expected to meet the full standard. Typically, the reduced standard only applies to people just getting out of basic training. At least, that's how the Army does it. Like a few people suggested, I wouldn't focus on just reaching minimum. Set to exceed the minimum and you will be guaranteed to pass.
