In review boards, school selection, etc. I know a passing apft is still good for those avenues, but if I have taken an ACFT and passed as part of an ETP packet, will that ACFT carry more weight during this transition time than another soldier's APFT for instance when applied to an E5 board, AGR board or BLC selection? Thanks!

There is no APFT anymore. Doesn't exist. There is only the ACFT.

Right now it can’t be used as a discriminator. It can’t be used on evaluations at all until further notice. We’ll see if that guidance changes after it reaches FOC in 2022. But right now your score shouldn’t be used to qualify you against your peers.

Keep in mind that this is for official purposes. Your fitness level, among other metrics, can shape leaders’ opinions which may affect your standing for promotions and schools.

Although the ACFT can’t count against you until 2022. Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be making strides to excel on it

WO1 (Join to see) Thanks for the reply! I'm certainly working to improve my already passing score on my next ACFT. I'm just curious how they are currently being compared on boards, especially since with the timing of my prior service reenlistment I do not have a valid APFT.

SPC Josh Tharp I recently did my Warrant Officer packet and my SRB reflected a low but passing score on the ACFT. Although it’s not supposed to count against you for evaluations, promotions, and boards, I still went ahead and took an updated ACFT to show the board what I was capable of scoring. It was a 60 point difference in score. The first time I did it I did the minimums to gauge the test.

WO1 (Join to see) Thats really great info! For my ETP packet, my grader only had me do the minimum for the weighted events (and I agreed as a gauge for the test and my fitness level after a 12 year break) because he said the ETP just needed passing. My final score was 394 but I'm certain my deadlift and push-ups are able to be higher. Not sure there is time for a retest before the packet is submitted but I may try to get a retest before going to any promotion or AGR boards.
