I’m PCS’ing to Wiesbaden, Germany after my reclass. Going to 66th MI BDE. Any advice about Wiesbaden or 66th MI BDE?

I’ll be traveling with a wife, dog and a newborn. My wife found this EXPENSIVE travel company for the dog. Any advice would be amazing!

Check with United and Lufthansa. They have a fantastic pet travel service. Also, if you are not, I recommend getting on facebook and digging into the "Wiesbaden yard sale" and Wiesbaden army facebook pages. Those have lots of insight on the goings on, how to do stuff, where to do/get stuff, and purchasing stuff from outgoing Soldiers. Feel free to hit me up with anything you have. I just got back from Wiesbaden/Clay Kasern and helped several soldiers in-process.

I was stationed there from 05 to 08. Loved it there. I'm sure lots has changed in 10 years. They have a professional soccer stadium along with a rich culture and history. Get out and explore downtown. Learn the language. Most people are friendly. If it's still there, go to Your's Sports bar and grill. Great food and atmosphere. Also go to the Brauhouse in Mainz-Kassel

I can’t wait to see the great culture of Germany. I’ve started learning bits and pieces of the language so I can at lleast get to a restroom! I’ll be sure to look for your Sports Bar as well! Thanks SSG!

Soccer is semi-pro in Wiesbaden, but is great. I cannot recommend going to Yours! If you want to go to an American bar, go to Buffalo Wild Wings in the US. If you are stationed in Germany, go to German places. Yours is only good for watching the Super Bowl or World Series.
Brauhaus Kastel has to be the one you are talking about in Mainz-Kastel. It is fantastic.

I was stationed in Mainz. You will have a great time in Wiesbaden. It is in a central location, and it is a beautiful city.

SGT (Join to see) - Never been to Hood, but from what I've heard, Wiesbaden is a hundred times better.
