Yesterday, NASA's mission control received some audio and video from the Perseverance rover that sounds like squeaking and they do not know what is causing it... It is interesting to note that the current distance the distance of Mars from Earth is currently 245,374,620 kilometers, equivalent to 1.640228 Astronomical Units. Light takes 13 minutes and 38.4816 seconds to travel from Mars and arrive to us.
This was the text release from NASA:
"On March 17, 2021 NASA published 16 minutes of unfiltered sounds of the Perseverance Mars rover driving on Mars’ surface on Sol 16. There are strange noises from Rover’s suspension and wheels. Some of the noises noise generated by the interaction of the rover’s wheels and suspension with the surface can be heard, along with a high-pitched scratching noise. Perseverance’s engineering team continues to evaluate the source of the scratching noise, which may either be electromagnetic interference from one of the rover’s electronics boxes or interactions between the rover mobility system and the Martian surface. The entry, descent, and landing microphone was not intended for surface operations and had limited testing in this configuration before launch." - Credit: nasa.gov, NASA/JPL-Caltech
Enjoy!

Now that was weird sounded like they could've use some extra grease in some of the bearings, the other screeching noise is weird, the echoing sound could've been wind noise fro the belly pan being dropped. But it's all very interesting.
