An interesting possibility. How would they plead if charged? "I was only following orders." No, that doesn't work, does it? Remember the Trials at Nuremberg?
Just a moment...

The Afgan withdrawal was predicated on political imperatives rather than military doctrine. General Officers had a choice: They could acquiesce or resign in protest. They chose their careers, which should now be ended by Trump.

Anyone that ever had boots on the ground and interacted with locals knew the Taliban would take over immediately. Only people I blame for this outcome are the Afghanis that had no desire to fight for advancement in their country. They have the government they were willing to fight for or not at all...

Afghanistan was going to end up a shit show no matter who pulled us out and when as the locals were not willing to fight to prevent Taliban rule.

SFC Kevin Childers - Many similarities but in my opinion many more differences. The Vietnamese are great warriors and simply wanted their independence, Afghanis are cowards content with man love Thursday, their opiates, and women as property. An Afghani male would never survive marriage to a Vietnamese woman.

Vietnamese women are kind and gentle, had one as a captain once. Only threatened to kill us once. :)

I think a prosecutor would have a very difficult time finding appropriate charges, and even more difficulty actually proving them.
Fire the bosses, sure. But just being bad at your job is not a court matiallable offense.

I see nothing in UCMJ that leaving Afghanistan hastily and allowing nature to run its course that could find itself inside a courtroom. I knew back in 2006 it would not take the Taliban long to over run the country.
