Reasonable deduction. I personally can't stand automatic updates. I would rather be notified that there are updates available and then let me decide if I want to install them or not. This includes the OS also.

The difference is this:
Linux = made for the people, by the people (aka community software)
Windose = made for the corperation, by a corperation. People use windose because its what they are familiar with.
Now there is UNIX. Unix is the base for linux, but is has its roots set in a corperate foundation.

SGT Norman Cillo - All hotfixes and patches are NOT always stable. You're still ignoring my statement. Who is "few people?" Linux System Administrators with the power to change these settings and set them to not be altered by end users? Businesses and hobbyists that depend on a specific version of an OS to get something done? Lots of rant but with loads of generalization.

SN (Join to see) I am not at all impressed with WIN10. Have been running it on a test computer for a couple months now. Big brother (MicroSoft) has taken over too much of the computer. I've been threatening to resort to a Linux variant every time MS does something I don't like. This may well be the straw that broke the camels back.
Can you believe they took out the games? WTF!
