Our neighbors came over for a visit with Kathy the other day. After they left Kathy gave me a big hug. I said: "Wow, what's that for?" She said: "I was so proud of you, both Zanita and Sinita were amazed at how shiny our floors looked. They said that they couldn't get their floors to look like that."
I laughed. And said:
"Well, thank the Army for that. Barracks or Bay, I could make them shine."
So look at that, old Army skills do transfer to Civilian life. And you get a hug!
