Remember "hanging chads?" Our voting system has always had minor problems, and as we grew, the more problems developed, naturally.
I believe this will always be a problem, especially with the high tech we have today. If one person can develop a secure system, another person can find a way through that system.

LTC Eugene Chu - I suggest staying off the internet during the whole process. When I first started to vote, there was no internet and results seemed to be ok then!

PO1 H Gene Lawrence - Yeah, 100%. There is really no need to include the internet in this. All we need is a certified total count. My state uses optical scan machines and when voting ends, all they should need to do is press a button somewhere to get the totals and have those numbers locally certified and sent to the state.
