Have you ever had a casual Friday at your Command?

If you have, what is your opinion on them? How did it affect morale? Would you consider implementing it weekly? Monthly?

Never in the military, or in my civilian jobs, either. In both cases the job description determined clothing.
My wife has had casual Fridays at her job though. However, I don't know that it did anything for morale that I could see.

I've had a few while on shore duty in Hawaii. I think it does a lot for unit morale as long as set expectations are made clear and military bearing remains paramount.

A few years ago, under a different Commanding Officer, we used to have "Aloha Attire Fridays". As long as we were wearing a Hawaiian shirt, we were good to go.

At my final duty station we had "Civilian Clothes Day". It was done to help raise funds MWR. If you contributed funds, you received a "Civilian Clothes Chit" allowing you to wear civilian clothes on a designated Friday. Do's and don'ts of what to wear were put out beforehand. It was basically "business casual". Invariably someone would dress inappropriately and would have to change.
Personally i didn't care for it. Too much of a pain in the butt enforcing the clothing standards.

One of my commands did this, too! It was indeed tough to enforce. As the MWR rep of my division, we'd always have those who came in out of uniform who didn't contribute. It was also way to tough to figure out who did and who didn't so we ended up just letting everyone get away with it.
