My fiancé is currently deployed, and I leave for BCT in 12 days. We are planning our wedding and getting married once we are both back home. What are some common hardships we will face both being military?

If you're in the same branch it wont be as rough. My LT was dual married and in the same unit so when we deployed they shared a living unit and other than regular work separating them it was pretty much business as usual. The hard part comes when, for example, you're Navy and he's Army and there are few joint bases for you to go to.

No kids, yet. We are holding off on that for a while unit we get the hang of us both being military and being married. we are both army, he is national guard and I am reserve. But his contract is up this coming December, and wants to re-enlist as active.

PFC (Join to see) - Gotcha Id imagine if you're reserve it wont be as difficult, but that's a component I'm not super familiar with.

SPC David Willis it would be easy if he go active and she in the reserve vs one going active and one Guard cause if you are Guard then you got to drill with your state or find a Sister unit which is very hard but if you are reserve its federal and you can drill almost anywhere there is a reserve unit. I was in the reserve and new a soldier who never went to his unit cause it was so far away he just drilled with us. So it’s worth it and congrats

Thanks for the input! Just new to all of this. I have dealt with the military for quite a while but only as a (almost) spouse. It’s a whole different ball game now that we are both military.

Won’t say its easy but if one is reserve/National Guard and the other one is AD/reserve/Guard then it’s easier then both beings active. No if you bother are reserve/Guard I wouldn’t mind drilling in the same until but if your unit get activated together I wouldn’t recommend both going with the same unit. Being in the military is not like any other job but you can make it work!
