The former SSG needs to go talk to a recruiter. They'll be able to answer questions with the most current information. This is from the go army page.

What did the recruiter say when the SSgt spoke to them? Everything falls under the need of the Military and things change from year to year. Speaking to a recruiter will be the most accurate information for the current options open to this SSgt.
