There are three elements that must be included in every VA disability claims file. Make sure you have them.
When you transition out the military, it’s important that you identify any injuries or illnesses acquired while in service and file a claim with the Department of Veterans Affairs. However, before you file, you need to make sure you have the right information in your disability claim. If you don’t, it could be rejected, and you’ll have to go through the appeals process, which turn into a long and tedious undertaking.

I might add that many counties in the US hire Veteran Service Representatives, Officers, and a Director to facilitate claims and appeals. Many of these folks have the knowledge and power to push through claims and appeals faster than if I had to do the same thing on my own.

In my area they have refused to let them help in any more cases because they were winning them all. Very bad for us veterans. Vets have to plead their own case now as they are no longer allowed to plead the case for you. You now have to hire a lawyer at your own expense.

The military and VA have worked hard to help create a singular path for those who are leaving the military.
