I have 85 days ETS leave on my LES. I already put in 59 days terminal leave ( Terminal leave starts on 19th Sep) I’m trying to burn in 26 days leave in July so that I only have 59 leave days left. My S-1 is very late on updating leave days. Last time I took leave they didn’t charge me until 6 months. I have heard stories from other soldiers whose leave days got screwed as well.
My question is- if they don’t charge me for 26 days that I take in July, I would carry over 85 days and come October while I’m on terminal leave, army will take away my 25 days as excess leave. So, I’ll be losing 25 days. How would I deal with this situation, any inputs is highly appreciated!

I would discuss it with your First Sergeant. If he doesn't seem to care, talk to the Battalion CSM. Don't worry about pissing off you command - remember that you are getting out of the Army.

Dont forget anout you PTDY leave days if authorized for ETSing on your Terminal Leave request.
Dont know about ETSing, but Retirees get 30 days depending on where they retire. ✌

Hey if you know you have 85 days, take 26 in July and your Unit S1,doesn't charge (LES Reflects), you by the the time you clear and final out, you will have 2 options.
1. When you final out at the Finance office, you can take a copy of your leave form that you took 26 days in July and have them update it.
2. Don't say shit abd you will get 26 days of basic pay on your final paycheck.
The Army might get you for this and take it back someway, ie VA,compensation, etc.
My advise sure you have a copy. The one when you signed out and signed in. VERY IMPORTANT!
Let me know if you need any other advise brother.
