The national nonprofit SoldierStrong proudly launched the SoldierScholar program in July 2012 to provide academic scholarships to veterans at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University and the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.

In 2017, the program was expanded to include a scholarship at the Batten College of Engineering and Technology at Old Dominion University specifically for female veterans in the STEM fields.

Since then SoldierStrong has awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships to over 30 veterans.
