Should officers get clothing allowance or get uniforms issued?

Officers currently have to pay for all their uniforms unless they are deployed in a region where they are authorized to order some uniforms using the overseas Kyloc accounts. They are issued most of their equipment.
Should they be given clothing allowance like enlisted Soldiers or be issued them like reservists?

Reservist Officers have to pay for them as well. Think about how much a full set of 4 uniforms, boots, and PT gear cost. That is almost 2 months pay for a us.

LTC (Join to see) - as a reservist, I say yes. I can’t speak to my active counterparts needs and wishes, but it gets expensive paying to keep up with every change in uniform. Luckily, I was issued partials of everything right before my commission. If anything, I would advocate a one time allowance any time a uniform change is approved.

Just bought four new sets. Probably dates back to when officers had to provide their own uniforms to fight the British.?
