Lakenheath Airman gets France's highest military award?
A maintainer from RAF Lakenheath received the French military's highest award on Monday for saving three French airman from a fiery crash.
French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian pinned the Legion of Honor on Staff Sgt. Greggory Swarz during the International Paris Air Show.

Awesome to see Airmen being recognized for doing the right thing, even when it is at personal risk!

Good job on this award! Seeing as it IS after all France, it has been a long long long time since France has actually awarded an award for bravery to a Frenchman. It is a wonder that they knew where to look in the supply room for the medal to award it.

Remember the best quote about the French ever made.
"Going to war without the french is like going duck hunting without your accordion." Jed Babbin, Former Undersecretary of Defense, US DoD.
What more can you say?

This comment is way out of line. Why can't you congratulate the man instead of cheapening it with a backhanded slap at France?

Again! Don't celebrate a US military member who saved lives, in order to slam the French.

Legion of Honor, they've handed out about a million of them, some for something, most for nothing.
